Coaching confidentiality is not necessarily the same as legally protected medical confidentiality, psychotherapist-patient privilege, or attorney-client privilege. Alethos does not provide psychological diagnosis, psychotherapy, medical care, or behavioral-health treatment through the public website. Information submitted through ordinary website forms should not be assumed to receive protections associated with a medical record or HIPAA-regulated communication system. Alethos nevertheless intends to handle coaching information responsibly and restrict access to people and service providers who reasonably need it to support the service, operate the business, or satisfy legal obligations.

4. Hypnosis and Guided Experiential Practices

When hypnosis or another guided experiential method is used within coaching, participation will be voluntary and addressed through the applicable service agreement or informed-consent process. Information arising from these practices will generally be handled as part of the client’s coaching records. Alethos will not publicly disclose a person’s participation in hypnosis or the content of an individual session without authorization, except when disclosure is legally required or otherwise permitted under the applicable agreement.

 

5. Session Recordings and Transcripts

Alethos does not intend to record private coaching sessions without the participant’s knowledge and consent. When a session, interview, group experience, or program activity may be recorded or transcribed, Alethos will provide additional information regarding:

• What will be recorded;

• The purpose of the recording;

• Who may access it;

• How it may be used;

• How long it may be retained; and

• Whether consent may be withdrawn.

 

Recording, transcription, research, publication, promotional use, and program-development use may require separate permissions.

Alethos may create aggregated or de-identified information that is not reasonably intended to identify an individual.

Alethos may use appropriately de-identified or aggregated information to develop or improve proprietary Alethos methods and tools, subject to applicable agreements, consent requirements, and reasonable safeguards. Where an artificial-intelligence or automated tool materially affects how client information is processed, Alethos may provide additional notice or obtain additional consent.
